THE LION ROCK OF πŸ‡±πŸ‡° SRILANKA | SIGIRIYA | EP-10 SRILANKA SERIES

Greetings I am Bilal Azam and you are watching my YouTube channel Being A Traveler And … You are watching my Sri Lanka's series In previous episode you saw that I reached Dambulla city and you saw an amazing balloon ride which we did in the morning So , now I am leaving Dambulla and going to show you an amazing place Sigiriya Lion rock I have seen that rock when i was on balloon ride Sigiriya rock is also known as Lion rock You will see that in today's vlog that why it is called as lion rock, Now we are checking out and our bike is ready Some luggage is there and some is here 2 bags and helmet is here Amit has checked out the room Amit bro! Is everything alright? Have you checked all Bag is ready Everything is alright Sigiriya is around 10-12 Km from here 18-20 Km We will go slowly, It will take 1-1.5 hours Firstly we will take hotel and then will go to Sigiriya line rock Lets go ! I will tell you rest on bike We have left Dambulla I have set the map And map is showing 31 minutes, 20 Km So, You can see the distance from Dambulla Sigiriya We are moving more towards the center of Sri Lanka As map showing, We are going to almost center After spending 2 days in Sigiriya, we will go to Kandy I have noticed that, Females here have very long hair Every girl have long black dense hair Because of ENVIRONMENT or water Weather is getting cloudy I there will no sunny than we will go for trekking today Riders! If you have craze for bike riding like me Then come to Sri Lanka It is very cheap (price) country Do Backpacking It is cheaper than Pakistan But the ticket is too expensive I have got ticket for 80-85k PKR But once, it was of just 60k PKR I hope the prices will decrease But Sigiriya's road is awesome This is an elephant path, and at any time an elephant can pass through here Echo Friendly Resort …

Oh! Look! Elephant is going Look at this Okay, This is another rock Both are same We are going to top of that rock Yea, look at that This was not a city, It was king's place … Anyways, we will find the detail by going there Look! Elephant is going You will find them walking on roads like this There is another elephant So, Lets go towards the hotel It is like homestay And then we have to eat something, I am hungry now We ate sandwiches in the morning, but we will eat something from Dhaba (food stall) So, we ordered prawn fried rice once again Thanks to Amit brother who takes care of my Halal food He also eats that what I choose So that's a good thing This is coconut water And these are tasty round prawns Their rice is small, not like that in Pakistan Long rice Its Basmati rice Yes, Basmati and Kernal rice are very long These are small rice It is tasty Its taste is not like Chinese fried rice The reason of good taste is that, They use more Soy Sauce in it And another thing is that they crush the carrot too much That it tastes like chicken fibers So, It should also use like this in Pakistan Prawn fried rice was very delicious Here you will get all type of foods in between 400-600 rupees But till now, we order onl y 1 plate And it is enough for us and its price lies in between 400-600 LKR Sigiriya here? Sigiriya? Sigiriya rock parking? This way? Yea! India …

India and Pakistan We are buying tickets right now Ok, finally we got the tickets It costs us $ 15, around 50% discount Ticket price for other foreigners is $ 30 So, we have entered in Sigiriya from the garden area Which comes before rock You can also see in map, let me show you the pictures from top There is a rock in the center and gardens on all four sides like there are in forts I will share history and details as I am going forward So Basically, Its Archaeological history shows that this place is around 5000 years old But the reason of popularity of lion rock in current era is that In 15th century, when king of Sri Lanka died As he had multiple wives, so his son of younger queen said that he wants to rule the country His name was kashap Although he did not have the right Although he did not have the right So, he had chosen that area around this rock for his city And the all people will live here And you will also see rooms on top So , He had made his living place on top of th at rock So, He shaped that rock in shape of lion claws That's why it is also known as Lion rock Which will we see later But it happened that After sometime, his elder brother …

I forgot his name! … I guess He went to India and take his help to attack his brother And he destroyed his government and city You can see from top, It is well-designed Also see these stairs, pathways and water management It is very well-built So, the empire and his palace on the rock was taken from him And his another brother did not take care of this place He said that, he will not live here I guess he was jealous of his younger brother's place So he took all his people to another place After that , this place … You can see that there is forest on all sides And if you see from top, There is an only rock between forest And there is another mountain in front of it Like this, This area got abandoned in this forest After that, In British period They discover this place in 19th century With the help of their Arch aeology departments Clean it and collected its history And then they made it an Archeology site So, now we are going to visit it And to see their rooms, paintings and their trades I will show you that by going on top I came to this cave from the stairs And you can see there are small benches there Also, here is a place to sit and there also After the end of Kashup empire, his brother made this place for monks So, they can live and pray here And after that this place came to an end Before, This was place for monks That's why you will see more places ahead Which was for king living and monks prayers Which was for king living and monks prayers And what are the signs of their trade with Romans and Chinese And it is said that there are many Persian signs and styles here because Because they did many trades with Persians Has it started? It is very hot If we had come a little earlier, the weather would have been cloudy, Which you also saw in the morning.

But it is 1:30 PM, and it is getting hot Finally We are at its iconic place Which is known as Lion rock See! This is the palace of Kashap King The entrance is beautiful, and you can also get a sculpture of Lion rock So, Actual rock is at top I don't know how they climb on the rock that time Now they made these metal paths for tourists I don't know how they used to go, that time There are small holes in it but I don't know how king used to go on top I think there were some stairs Okay, so we are entering the palace of king Kashap On the rock of Lion King They are the lion king of that time What a view! What a view These are stairs Alright! What is the name of this mountain? Pudu … I dont know what was that We are going there no! yes? Sun yes …

We will go there at sunrise and will see this rock As we are coming up, it is getting windy and the view is getting more beautiful These were stairs of old time And these are metal stairs Those were the stairs of old times Amit bro is going from their old paths How can climb like this These were … These metal used not to be here There were only these steps They used to climb up like that Amit bro! Let's go Look behind me, What a view! What a view! Basically, these are a ruin from 15th century But this became an attraction for tourists They established it, that's why all people visits here And came to see this iconic shape of lion rock We have spent much time by sitting here And was recording time lapses It is 3:30 PM now Our plan is to see sunrise from there But we still have time, so let's see sunset from there This is the end of our Sigiriya lion rock vlog I hope you like it It was also historical And this is the most famous archaeological site of Sri Lanka So, whenever you come to Sri Lanka, must visit this place So, They made the stairs and managed very well It is not very expensive, especially if you are from Pakistan Alright! I will meet you in next vlog And I will show you sunrise from its opposite side That's why I have to go to bed early today I will meet you 5'o clock in the morning
